The Maker’s Mark

One of my earliest design desires was to put my mark on all of the fashion weaving I do. I knew what I wanted for this. That hasn’t changed. I needed it to be a small token from me, saying “I created this, I hope you love it as much as I loved making it.”

I didn’t want a fabric tag. I mean, I did get some nice ones, but they always seem to me to be something folks would want to remove so that it doesn’t take away from the flow and drape. I wanted something that could be worn by any sex without it feeling somehow cumbersome. It needed to be small, stylized, and meaningful.

To that end, on all of my work, with a few exceptions, I have attached a small metal feather at the fringe line. I’m proud to say, this feather is my maker’s mark.
