April was a good month to spin! I finished 3 skeins that are destined for weaving!

The first skein I finished in April was the Amethyst Sparkle from Fresh Lotus Designs. I plyed two spools together to get 681.1 yards of a lovely 2 ply Sport weight yarn. There’s so much life in the color play between all the shades!

I finished up the month making the yarn I’m calling Mountain Meadows. Dark greens and browns with pops of purples, pinks, blues and leafy greens. It reminds me of the pristine fields of wildflowers in the Rocky Mountains. I used the chain plying method to get a 3 ply Worsted weight yarn with a total yardage of 589.7 yards. This chunky yarn took 1 lb of fiber to make. I want to weave this so that it shows off the textures and colors.

It’s going to be a lot of fun to pick out the other fibers I’ll use to make scarves from these yarns. So many options! But that’s a project for Autumn. I still have lots of fibers that still need to be made into yarns.
